Whittlesey store wars: Sainsbury's personnel arriving for Fenland District Council planning meeting

Sainsbury's officials arrive for the meeting at Fenland Hall, March, where two planning applications are being considered to build supermarkets in Whittlesey.

The planning committee will consider applications from Sainsbury's and Tesco to open stores in Eastrea Road.

I think that we in Whittlesey, need a bit of competition for the Co-op, which seems to be very expensive and only has a minimum choice.(as well as minimum parking for blue badge holders)
I thought that Tescos had applied for a store on the Eastrea road nearer the town of Whittlesey, but that was not to be. So I would have thought that Tesco would have the first option on the site a little further along the road. I do think that there is a need for both of the stores but fairness says that Tescos should get first refusal.
