Following on from the Friday and Saturday's dancing and celebrations the Straw Bear is placed upon a frame and burned in front of a procession of performers, their families and the public. Held at the Sir Harry Smith Community College in Whittlesey the burning followed a show of dancing in the school assembly hall. The banner shown in some of the photos is lowered at the end of the ceremony as the bear burns as tribute.
The burning represents the end of the festival and leaves the way open for a new bear to be made from this year's harvest.
